Nonprofit brings the best of Louisiana culture to L.A.

A New Way of Life Reentry Project, a grassroots nonprofit community organization, hosts a special one-night event to raise awareness and funds to provide safety, support and a second chance for formerly incarcerated women.
The 2012 national tour of the Ultimate Louisiana Party brings a moveable feast of the best of Louisiana's unique music, food and culture to raise awareness and funds for the Los Angeles-based nonprofit.
The event will feature Louisiana Funk Reggae and Cajun music provided by Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor with special guest The Zydeco Mudbugs. Tickets include a menu of catfish, red beans and rice, and skillet cornbread. Ticket prices are $35 per person or two for $50. Receive a $5 discount until July 7 when tickets are purchased online at www.anewwayoflife.org.
The benefit will be held Thursday, July 12 from 6-10 p.m. at the Savoy Entertainment Center, 218 S. La Bres Ave., Inglewood.
