Fireworks return to Friday’s Dodger games

LOS ANGELES, Calif.–Fireworks will follow tonight’s Los Angeles Dodgers-San Francisco Giants game at Dodger Stadium, resuming the team’s practice ofhaving fireworks following every Friday home game after a one-season interruption.

Fans will be able to watch the fireworks show from the field.

The Dodgers decided to resume having fireworks shows following every Friday home game after learning from fans it was one of their favorite promotions and that a corporate sponsor, Pizza Hunt, was signed, a team official told City News Service.

The first 50,000 fans at the game will receive magnet schedules.

Kenny Landreaux, an outfielder on the Dodgers 1981 World Series championship team will sign autographs in Autograph Alley before the game.

Jordin Sparks, the 2007 “American Idol” winner, will sing the national anthem.

The Dodgers opened their season Thursday by defeating the World Series champion Giants, 2-1.
