4th of July Carnival. A three-day carnival begins July 2. The City celebration takes place on the 4th of July, with fireworks scheduled for 9pm. A 5-K walk/run will take place Independence Day at 8am. (323) 722-4805. Rosewood Park, 3535 Commerce Way.

Annual 4th of July fireworks show at Culver City High School. Gates open at 5pm, entertainment begins at 6pm, and the fireworks start at 9pm. Suggested donation is $2 per person.  Bring a picnic or enjoy food from vendors. Parking is available in nearby lots for $5. Enter those lots off of Braddock Dr. at Huron Ave., two blocks east of Sepulveda Blvd.  Culver City High School, 4401 Elenda St.

Huntington Beach
106th Annual 4th of July Parade. Considered to be the largest Independence Day parade west of the Mississippi, featuring more than 300 entries including bands, floats, celebrities, local dignitaries, equestrians and community groups. The parade heads south from Pacific Coast Highway to Main St. ending at Yorktown Avenue and Main Street. 10am, Downtown Huntington Beach, 1 Main St.

Irvine
Fireworks celebration and concert on the green. The Irvine Police Association presents this annual event. Live bands throughout the day, concession stands, balloon jumpers, face painting, children’s game area, door prizes, food vendors, and fireworks show. Admission is $12 for adults and $7 for children and seniors. Tickets are available at the box office on the day of the event or in advance by calling (949) 724-0488. Gate opens at 3pm. La Crescenta
Crescenta Valley High School. 2900 Community Ave. Entrance is via La Crescenta Elementary. Tickets are $5; children under 2 are free. 9pm.

La Habra
La Habra fireworks show. Festivities include a carnival, children’s games, live music, entertainment, food vendors and fireworks. Tickets $3 – $7. Gates open at 3pm. La Habra High School, 801 W. Highlander Ave.

Lancaster

Pacific Palisades
Palisades Rocks the 4th concert and fireworks. The concert offers a wide range of the finest local amateur and professional entertainment, playing popular and patriotic songs. Come wave the flag and sing along. Admission: $2. Gates open at 6pm, entertainment at 6:30pm, fireworks 9pm. Palisades Charter High School, 15777 Bowdoin St.

Pasadena
Americafest 2010. The biggest and best fireworks show in Southern California. Celebrate America with music, food and fireworks. Full day of safe and affordable family fun, food and entertainment. Drum Corps International presents five world class unit performances. Family fun festival and food court in area H starting at 2pm. The Americafest Fireworks and by PyroSpectaculars as at 9pm. Porter Ranch
Shepherd of the Hills Church. “4th of July Spectacular.” This free festival and fireworks show at Shepherd of the Hills Church in Porter Ranch includes moon bounces and face painting for the children, an outdoor stage show as well as food from over a dozen local food vendors. The evening will conclude with an aerial fireworks display, presented by Pyro Spectaculars by Souza. Gates open at 4:30pm. 19700 Rinaldi St.

Redondo Beach
Seaside Lagoon. Kids 4th Annual Freedom Parade. Gates open at 2pm and live entertainment until 10pm. 200 Portofino Way.

San Fernando
San Fernando Recreation Park. 208 Park Ave. (4th Street and Park). Admission is free and open to all ages. Arrive early to ensure the best seating for a fun-filled day of entertainment, food and fireworks. This is a family event – alcohol and smoking is prohibited.
