Norman Whitfield, 65, succumbs

Norman Whitfield, who wrote some of Motown's biggest hits, died in Los Angeles, Tuesday, from complications of diabetes. He was 65.
His hits included "I Heard it through the Grapevine (collaboration with Barrett Strong);" "Ain't Too Proud to Beg;" "Psychedelic Shack;" "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone; and "Carwash" are some of his biggest hits.
Whitfield left Motown in the '80s to start his own label, Whitfield Records. However, he soon returned to Motown.
