The City of Los Angeles Department of City Planning has announced community workshops to discuss the Draft 2006-2014 Housing Element Update.
The Housing Element of the General Plan is the citys blueprint for meeting its housing and growth challenges, and includes a description of housing conditions and needs; goals and policies that define the Citys housing strategy; and, implementation programs to create sustainable, mixed-income neighborhoods across the City.
Local workshops will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 4:30 -7:30 p.m. at the Mark Ridley Thomas Constituent Service Center, 8475 S. Vermont Ave., L.A. 90044; and Thursday, April 24, 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Henry Medina West Los Angeles Parking Enforcement Facility, 11214 Exposition Blvd., 2nd Floor, L.A., 90064.
A copy of the Draft Housing Element document is available for review electronically on the citys website (http://cityplanning.lacity.org under Whats New). Copies are also available at the Citys Central and Regional Libraries, Mayor and City Council field offices, and Department of City Planning public counters.
