The downward slope of “The Boondocks”

If you’ve been disappointed thus far with season three of “The Boondocks” series, then you’re not alone. From barber shop conversations to social networking sites, the sentiment is the same. As an avid Boondocks watcher and supporter, I feel that something is definitely lacking from the eagerly anticipated third season.
So, the questions now become “What is it?” What did seasons one and two of the satirical show provide that the current episodes are missing?

South Africa fights back, shouldn’t we?

Rape is a tremendous problem around the world, especially in South Africa, where the rate of forcible rape is the highest in the world.

Studies done by the National Institute of Criminal Rehabilitation reported that nearly 500,000 rapes occur in South Africa each year. They speculated that a woman is raped every 17 seconds.

It’s every two minutes in the U.S., but either way the thought is still daunting.

Untitled

Where is it that thought originates?
What is this thing called mind?
My words not yet articulated,
Like a foreign language awaiting translation.
Sent from heavenly heights
... the words right me, it’s not the words I write.
It’s divinity in disguise, heaven sent,
It is seeing without your eyes,
Being in the present awareness,
embracing the moment that is now
and feeling the eternal power of it.
I am not a sage, I am not a saint.
I’m only an artist using words to paint.

Los Angeles defeats Boston Celtics in Game 7, for the first time ever

For the second consecutive year, the Los Angeles Lakers are National Basketball Association (NBA) champions. What makes the recent win even more enjoyable was that the title was won by defeating the Boston Celtics, the team that defeated the Lakers for the championship in 2008.

The Celtics are a team that has a history with the Lakers in NBA Finals competition, having matched up against them 11 times previously, winning nine. Four of these Finals matches have gone to a deciding Game 7, with the Celtics winning every time.
