Ticketmaster offers new ticket buying option through Wal-Mart
No computer, no problem
LOS ANGELES, Caif.—People without a home computer can purchase concert and sporting-event tickets at various Southern California Wal-Mart stores outfitted with touch-screen Ticketmaster terminals, the ticketing outlet announced today.
The terminals are available at 69 Southern California Wal-Mart stores.
Customers can use the terminals to browse available concerts, shows and sporting events. Once a customer picks an event, a Wal-Mart employee will help complete the transaction and immediately print the tickets.
“By integrating ticketing into Wal-Mart stores, we are able to offer fans this very convenient way to learn about upcoming events, purchase and take home tickets without leaving their neighborhood,” according to Ticketmaster CEO Nathan Hubbard.
Among the Wal-Mart stores outfitted with the terminals are Anaheim, Baldwin Park, Buena Park, Cerritos, Industry, La Habra, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Palmdale, Panorama City, Paramount, Santa Clarita, Santa Ana, Torrance and Santa Fe Springs.

Los Angeles drivers as a whole average a crash every 6.6 years, a figure that nationally trails only Philadelphia drivers at 6.5 years, according to Allstate.

That’s the message from safety officials to residents of Los Angeles County cities that allow the personal use of fireworks.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. — Peter Sagan of Slovakia sprinted past Australian Michael Matthews to win today’s third stage of the Tour of California, the nation’s largest cycling event.
Sagan completed the 110.3-mile stage from Palmdale to Santa Clarita in four hours, 20 minutes, 31 seconds. Each of the next 99 cyclists were credited with the same time.
“The last three kilometers were crazy with all the sprinters who wanted to win,” Sagan said.
