L.A. County holds hearings on new bicycle paths

The Los Angeles County Public Works Department is currently developing a new countywide Bicycle Master Plan.
The effort will expand and connect the county network of bikeways; improve existing county maintained bicycle facilities; develop and adopt a prioritized list of proposed new bikeway and bicycle projects; and encourage additional bikeway usage.
However, before final decisions are made, the Public Works Department is holding a string of community workshops continuing through February and March to gather input from current and potential bikeway users.
Workshops will be held at these locations: March 1 at Topanga Elementary School, 141 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga; March 3 at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, 1600 Atlantic Ave., Long Beach; March 4 at Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, 4232 Las Virgenes Road, Calabassas; March 8 at A.C. Bilbrew Library, 150 E. El Segundo Blvd., Los Angeles; March 10 at Marina del Rey Library, 4533 Admiralty Way; March 24 at East Los Angeles Library, 4837 E. Third St.; March 25 at Fire Station 129 (Association of Rural Town Councils Meeting), 42110 6th Street West, Lancaster.
Follow-up workshops will be held later this year.
