Residents speak out

The Consolidated Board of Realtists (CBR) will host a special public hearing conducted by the Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission. The subject of the hearing will concern the expansion and operations of the oil fields adjacent to Ladera Heights, View Park, Baldwin Hills, and Blair Hills. The commission has drafted an Environmental Impact Study (EIS) which is now available for public comment at this hearing on Thursday, August 14, 2008, at 6 p.m.
CBR members have contributed to the development of the EIS and the outreach campaign to inform affected communities. Many board members have clients in these areas and clients who want to live in these areas. CBR members feel that it is essential that they, and the current residents, be thoroughly informed about the potential effects the oil fields could have on life and property values in these communities. All interested parties are encouraged to get their comment on the record.
CBR is located at 3725 Don Felipe Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90008. (323) 299-5570.
The final public hearing is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the Hall of Records, 320 W. Temple St. Room 160, Los Angeles, CA.
