It started small, with a pack of gum or a candy bar.
When you didn’t get caught, you moved to larger things: a can of soda or a game in your pocket. Most times, you didn’t need whatever it was you stole but it really wasn’t about the thing, anyhow. It was about getting away with it.
But, of course, you got caught. And just like everybody who’s been caught stealing, you had to pay for what you did, both monetarily and with punishment. Yeah, that stinks but so does stealing.

What was your Mama’s favorite thing to do when she was a kid your age?
If you ask her, she’ll probably tell you all about her favorite game, and the toy she loved most. She might tell you stories about the trips she took with her family; the books she loved, pets she owned, music she danced to, and she’ll tell you about them if you ask.
And some day, you’ll have the same kind of stories for your child, too.

Hollywood by Choice

To many, a funeral is no laughing matter. But when you team some of the funniest actors in show business together in one movie get ready to ‘bust a gut.’
“Death at a Funeral” stars Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence and Tracy Morgan in an outrageously funny film about the death of a loved one who had a big secret, but that’s only half the story.
Factor in the relatives and their issues, and you’ve got a funeral that will leave you in tears . . . laughing.

A stage play of choices, and consequences

The most exciting thing about being alive is that you never know what’s going to happen next. One day everything seems to be working on your behalf, following ‘the plan’ that you set forth some time ago.
Then in a blink of an eye, your life flip-flops and the thought flashes through you mind—what have I done to deserve this?”
Just when you settle down for a pity-party, your past sneaks in, and you say . . . oooh. And so it is with Doug and Deanna Piper in the thought-provoking stage play “Something Happened.”
