Two-part faux painting course planned
Prior registration required
Palmdale’s Parks and Recreation Department will host a two-part faux painting course entitled “Fabulous Faux for Boring Walls” on Saturday, May 19, from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Palmdale Oasis Park Recreation Center, 3850 E. Ave. S in Palmdale.
The fee is $30 to attend one course or $50 to attend both courses—a $10 savings. A $29 materials fee is to be paid to Linda Coffman, the class instructor, the day of the class for a painting kit. A painting shirt is recommended for participation. Registration prior to the day of the class is required, as onsite registration will not be accepted.
Part one will begin at 9:30 a.m., and will cover basic looks of faux—classic, tuscan and metallics.
Part 2 will begin at 1 p.m., and will combine her approach with more popular styles.
Instructor Coffman has been in the wallpapering and faux-painting business for more than 18 years. Her work is featured in businesses, hotels, restaurants, bed and breakfasts and fine homes throughout Minnesota and Arizona. Coffman has taught thousands of students her faux painting techniques for over seven years, giving beginners the experience and confidence they need to create amazing walls.
Participants must pre-register for the course either online at www.cityofpalmdale.org, at the parks and recreation department, 38260 10th St. East in Palmdale, Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., or at the Palmdale Oasis Recreation Center, Monday through Friday from 3:30 to 6 p.m.
